Landing Platform vs Planday: the rota joined to HR and pay

A rota that already knows who is on leave, what they cost and where the hours go.

Planday is built around the schedule. Landing puts the shift rota inside the same platform as HR records, leave, timesheets, contracts, bookings and invoicing, so the people who plan the week and the people who pay for it read the same numbers.

Landing suits you if

  • You run shifts at one or more branches and want HR in the same place
  • You want labour cost against budget before the week is published
  • You have office staff too, and want one system for both

Where the schedule stops.

The rota is only one part of running a team that works in shifts.

A schedule on its own

Planday knows who is working when. The contracts, the office team's timesheets and the customer side of the business still live somewhere else.

Features by tier

Leave management, payroll integrations and API access sit on the Plus plan, and auto-scheduling on the custom-priced Pro plan. The bill is per user, so it grows with every new starter.

Two kinds of staff, two systems

Hourly staff clock in on the rota, salaried staff log time somewhere else, and nobody sees labour cost and client work together.

Landing Platform vs Planday, line by line.

Landing covers the shift work Planday is known for, then joins it to the records, leave and money around it.

What it costs, side by side.

Planday charges per user, with the features you probably want on the Plus plan. On Landing your shift staff are Members, for a few pounds a month each, and the rota, HR and the rest of the business come in the same plan.

Moving off Planday is our job.

We move you over one tool a month, against success criteria we agree with you up front. You don't pay until we prove each one is ready. See how a switch runs.

Step 1

We map your rota

We look at your branches, roles, shift patterns, leave rules and what your payroll provider needs. Then we agree what "ready" means, for example a full week published and clocked in on Landing.

Step 2

We move your data

We move your data as part of the switch: people, roles, branches, leave balances and your current rota. Your team keeps using Planday until the new week is checked.

Step 3

You sign it off

Your managers publish a real week and check the payroll file. Billing starts only when it meets the criteria you set, then we move the next tool.

Free monthsEvery £1,000 a month you switch off earns a free month, up to three.
Billing starts when it's readyWe prove the switch works before your first invoice.
OnboardingOne month's fee, from £500, paid when your first switch is signed off.
Price lockedYour yearly price is locked for two years.

But we already use Planday.

Fair. Here are the questions shift-based teams ask us most.

Does Landing's rota do what we use Planday for?

Yes. Week, day and month views per branch, drag to move, copy last week, publish with notifications, open shifts people can claim, swaps, availability and a coverage heatmap. Working Time checks run as you build, and a kiosk tablet handles clock-in with a PIN.

Do staff who only clock in need a full seat?

No. They are Members, from £4 a month. For shop-floor staff who only clock in, the clock-in is their timesheet: hours and payroll, with no nagging to log time against projects.

Can we still send hours to our payroll provider?

Yes. Hours and premiums for weekend, night and overtime work export as a file your payroll provider can take, and labour cost shows against budget while you plan.

What about the people in the office who don't work shifts?

They use the same system. Their timesheets fill overnight from their Outlook calendar, their working week is set per person, and their leave sits on the same calendar as the rota.

“We were running PR, social scheduling and the rest of our marketing across half a dozen tools that never talked. Now we plan, schedule and measure from a single screen.”
