Landing Platform vs When I Work: shifts plus the whole business
When I Work schedules your hourly team and hands HR and payroll to a partner. Landing runs the rota, clock-in, HR records, leave and contracts in one platform, with the CRM, bookings and invoicing that keep the business paid.

Landing suits you if
- You want clock-in included, not switched on as an add-on
- You want HR records and leave in the same place as the rota
- You want the customer side of the business in the same system
Scheduling is the easy part.
The shifts are planned. Everything that hangs off them is still elsewhere.
Time tracking on top
Clock-in is an optional add-on on every When I Work plan, charged on top of the per-user schedule price.
HR and payroll by referral
New accounts are offered free months of a partner's payroll and HR product. That is another system, another login and another bill once the offer ends.
The business is somewhere else
Customers, bookings, quotes and invoices never meet the rota, so nobody sees what the week's labour did for the week's sales.
Landing Platform vs When I Work, line by line.
Landing matches the scheduling work, includes the clock, and adds the HR and business tools around it.

What it costs, side by side.
When I Work lists a low per-user price, then adds time tracking and leaves HR to a partner. On Landing the clock, HR and the rest of the business are in one plan, and your hourly staff are Members.

When I Work, as it lists it
How When I Work is sold, as listed on their site, September 2026.
And still to buy separately: an HR system, e-signature, a CRM, booking pages and invoicing.
a month on Landing, billed yearly, ex VAT
Includes the shift rota, kiosk clock-in, HR records, leave, contracts and e-signature, booking pages, CRM and invoicing.
Work out your own priceExample team: two managers who build the rota and run HR, thirty staff across branches who clock in, swap shifts and book leave. No marketing contacts.
Switching is our job, not yours.
We move you over one tool a month, against success criteria we agree with you up front. You don't pay until we prove each one is ready. See how a switch runs.
We map your week
We look at your locations, positions, schedule templates and the rules your managers rely on, and agree what "ready" looks like before you commit.
We move your data
We move your data as part of the switch: staff, positions, locations, availability and the schedule ahead. Clock-in runs on a kiosk tablet from day one.
You sign it off
A real week gets published, worked and exported to payroll. Billing starts only when it passes the criteria you agreed, then we move the next tool.
But we already use When I Work.
Fair. Here are the questions hourly teams ask us most.
Is Landing's scheduling as quick to use as When I Work?
It is built for the same job: drag shifts, copy last week and publish with notifications. Staff claim open shifts, swap and set availability from their phone, and the Working Time checks run while you build.
Is clock-in extra on Landing?
No. Kiosk clock-in with a PIN, an optional GPS radius and a selfie check come with the rota, and actual hours sit next to rostered hours.
Where do our HR records live if we leave When I Work?
In Landing, beside the rota: role, manager, contract, documents, emergency contacts and leave balances on one record, with contracts signed in the browser.
Our per-user price is only a few dollars. Why pay more per person?
Because the comparison is not schedule against schedule. Add time tracking, an HR system, e-signature and whatever runs your customers and invoices, then put that total next to your Landing price.
