Landing Platform vs Square: a till inside your whole business

Beyond the card rate: a till that belongs to the rest of the business.

Square is free to start, charges a fee on every card payment, and adds marketing, loyalty and staff tools as monthly extras. Landing's till sits in the same system as your online shop, CRM, email, rota and HR, priced by the people who run it.

Landing suits you if

  • You have outgrown adding a paid extra for each new job
  • You want in-store and online buyers on one customer record
  • You want a till built for UK VAT and electronic sales suppression rules

Where free to start stops being free.

Square makes the first sale easy. The costs arrive as the business grows around it.

A fee on every sale

Every card payment carries a processing fee: 1.75% in person on UK cards, as listed.

Extras add up

Marketing, loyalty, kitchen display and advanced access are each their own monthly fee.

Still the rest

Square runs the counter. Your CRM, helpdesk, projects and HR still live somewhere else.

Landing Platform vs Square, line by line.

Landing's till covers the counter and the floor. The rest of the table is the business Square leaves to other tools.

What it costs, side by side.

Square charges on every payment, then adds monthly fees for plans and tools. Landing charges for the people who use it, with the till, shop, CRM, email, rota and HR in one plan.

Example team: two people who run the business and its marketing every day, six who work the till, pick up shifts and clock in. Square figures as listed on its UK site, September 2026. Credits for AI, SMS and lookups come from a shared pool each Builder adds to.

Switching is our job, not yours.

We move you over one tool a month, against success criteria we agree with you up front. You don't pay until we prove each one is ready.

Step 1

We map your stack

Show us your Square setup and the tools around it. We agree what moves where, and what "ready" means for each tool, before you commit to anything.

Step 2

We move Square across

Your products, prices, barcodes, VAT rates and customers move across as part of the switch. We set up your tables, staff permissions and cash-up routine, and run a trial shift before the old till goes.

Step 3

You sign it off

Billing starts only when we have shown it works against the criteria you set. Then we move the next tool, one a month.

Free monthsEvery £1,000 a month you switch off earns a free month, up to three.
Billing starts when it's readyWe prove the switch works before your first invoice.
OnboardingOne month's fee, from £500, paid when your first switch is signed off.
Price lockedYour yearly price is locked for two years.

But Square was free to start.

It was. Here are the questions owners ask us most when they are weighing it up.

Square costs nothing a month. Why would we pay for Landing?

Because of what you add next. Marketing, loyalty and staff tools each carry their own monthly fee on Square, and a CRM, helpdesk and HR are other companies' bills. On Landing they come in one plan with the till.

Can Landing's till run table service?

Yes. Open tabs on tables, add to them through the evening, and split the bill across cash and card at the end. Only the cash goes into the drawer count.

How are cash-ups handled?

Each shift has its own drawer. Staff count up, the till reconciles against what it expected, and X and Z reads give the figures. Managers can see each person's variance history.

Do staff who only use the till need a full seat?

No. People who work the till, pick up shifts and clock in are Members, from £9 a month on Scale. Customers are free.

“We were running PR, social scheduling and the rest of our marketing across half a dozen tools that never talked. Now we plan, schedule and measure from a single screen.”
