Landing Platform vs Lightspeed: a till that knows your customers

A till for the shop floor and the bar, on the same record as everything else.

Lightspeed sells retail and restaurant point of sale by location and register, with marketing automation and API access as add-ons. Landing's till handles tables, tabs, split bills, tips and UK VAT, and every sale lands on the same customer as your online orders, email and support.

Landing suits you if

  • You run a shop floor or a hospitality floor, and sell online too
  • You want a till record built for UK electronic sales suppression rules
  • You want the rota, clock-in, HR and email in the same system as the till

Where the till bill spreads.

Lightspeed is a proper point of sale. The cost and the customer data spread out from there.

Per location, per register

The bill grows with every location and every extra register, before add-ons.

Add-ons for the rest

Marketing automation and direct API access are listed as add-ons, each a separate decision.

Copies of the same people

Your till, your email tool and your HR app each keep their own copy of the same people.

Landing Platform vs Lightspeed, line by line.

On the floor, Landing's till does the work you expect. Behind it sits the rest of the business, on one record.

What it costs, side by side.

Lightspeed charges per location and per register, then adds modules. Landing charges for the people who use it, and the till, shop, email, rota and HR come in one plan.

Work out your own price

Example team: three managers who run the venues, marketing and the books every day, fifteen who run the till, pick up shifts and clock in. Lightspeed figures as listed on its UK site, September 2026. Credits for AI, SMS and lookups come from a shared pool each Builder adds to.

Switching is our job, not yours.

We move you over one tool a month, against success criteria we agree with you up front. You don't pay until we prove each one is ready.

Step 1

We map your stack

Show us your Lightspeed setup and the tools around it. We agree what moves where, and what "ready" means for each tool, before you commit to anything.

Step 2

We move Lightspeed across

Your products, prices, barcodes, VAT rates and customers move across as part of the switch. We set up your tables, staff permissions and cash-up routine, and run a trial shift before the old till goes.

Step 3

You sign it off

Billing starts only when we have shown it works against the criteria you set. Then we move the next tool, one a month.

Free monthsEvery £1,000 a month you switch off earns a free month, up to three.
Billing starts when it's readyWe prove the switch works before your first invoice.
OnboardingOne month's fee, from £500, paid when your first switch is signed off.
Price lockedYour yearly price is locked for two years.

But our tills already work.

Fair. Here are the questions retail and hospitality teams ask us most when they are weighing it up.

Does Landing's till keep working when the internet drops?

Yes. Sales keep ringing and sync when the connection returns. Each one keeps the time it was rung, so it lands in the right shift and is taxed at the VAT rate that applied then.

How does Landing handle tips?

Tips are kept out of turnover, and cash and card tips are recorded as separate events, so the drawer reconciles and the tips are clear for whoever shares them out.

What makes the till record tamper-evident?

Every sale, refund and drawer event goes into a chained log. If a row is edited, replaced or removed, the chain shows it. It is built for the UK rules on electronic sales suppression.

Can bar staff see the takings?

Only if you let them. Ringing sales, reading turnover, supervising staff and changing VAT rates are four separate permissions, so a supervisor can run the bar without seeing the books.

“We were running PR, social scheduling and the rest of our marketing across half a dozen tools that never talked. Now we plan, schedule and measure from a single screen.”
